From April 2007 to May 2009The museum conducted a county-wide survey of cultural relics, which surveyed 15 towns, 324 administrative villages and 1,274 natural villages within 1,576 square kilometers of the county, and investigated and registered 157 immovable cultural relics.Since 2007, the county finance set up a single collection of cultural relics protection funds of 100,000 yuan.

According to the Notice on Free Admission of National Museums and Memorials issued by the Ministry of Publicity of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Peixian Museum became the second batch of museums in Jiangsu Province to open to the public free of charge in 2009.

In March, the exhibition project of the new Pei County Museum was started. Chen Hao, former director of the Exhibition Department of Xuzhou Museum, was invited to write the exhibition outline, and municipal and county experts such as Tian Binge, Ma Peifeng, Lv Jiming, Huang Qinghua, Zhang Rong and Sun Houling were invited to demonstrate, supplement and improve the exhibition outline.

In May, the conceptual design plan of the new Pei County Museum was invited for bidding, and leaders of the provincial and municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage, experts from Nanjing Museum and Xuzhou Museum, and leaders of the county Party Committees publicity Department were invited to participate in the bid evaluation activity.

In October, the new museum project was put up for public bidding.In October, Hulingcheng Site was declared a cultural relic protection unit by Peixian Government.Wang Wei, an entrepreneur from Peiji, donated 229 pieces (sets) of ancient cultural relics and contemporary painting and calligraphy works to his hometown museum; Lu Gaoqun and Lu Yifan, the father and son who discovered and protected the Huling City site in Longgu Town, donated more than 30 pieces (sets) of relics from Huling City to Peixian Museum.

From January to August, the new museum project was constructed by the three bid-winning companies. The construction period lasted eight months, and all the projects were completed and accepted in December. At the same time, the museum was relocated and arranged for exhibition.From March to April, the provincial cultural relic protection unit Fengge Stele and the county cultural relic protection unit Yuan Dynasty Imitation Fengge Stele were smoothly transferred from Gefengtai to the Qingshi Engraver history exhibition hall on the first floor of the new Museum of the New City Cultural Center.In October, Hulingcheng Site was declared as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by Peixian Peoples Government and a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province.

In March 2019, the Hulingcheng site and the former site of Qingdun Temple Primary School were announced as cultural relics protection units by the Jiangsu Provincial Peoples Government.On Dec 31, 2019, the new Pei County Museum opened to the public for free.
